Dec 4 2018, 11:41 pm

Exam season is in full-swing, and sometimes you just need to get off campus and out of your dorm.

Luckily, Toronto has plenty of 24-hour spots where you can get your study on… and eat some good grub, too.

These are some of the city’s best places to work the night away.

Open 24/7, 365 days a year, this spot is serving up everything you need to get through a late-night study sesh, from soup to spring rolls to coffee and chocolate cake. They’ve got all-day (night?) breakfast on the roster, alongside nachos, pasta, salad and one mean double-stacked grilled cheese.

The Lakeview

This is a spot for classic diner fare. Come here and get cozy in a booth with your books, as long as you don’t mind them getting splattered with a bit of grease. All-day brunch, burgers and milkshakes will power you through your last-minute speed-reading.

Okay, okay, this spot’s not open 24 hours. But it is open 21 hours, which might encourage you to go and get just a couple hours of sleep? Which is good. So it’s helping you out. Thompson offers a specific late-night menu that features loaded fries (with duck), hot wings, hummus plates and an assortment of hot sandwiches. The perfect foods to indulge in while you work, and then to fuel a good night’s couple hours of sleep.

The Bagel House

The Bagel House

You know what you need to make it to the end of the semester? Montreal style wood-oven bagels. Good thing The Bagel House has got your back. Need a little cream cheese with your cram-sesh? Some bacon with your binders, or seasoning with your stress? This is the spot to snuggle in with a bagel (or two) and your books.

Fran’s

Oh Fran’s. Conveniently located within a stone-throw of downtown campuses, Fran knows she’s a prime spot for students to study… or drown their sorrows in milkshakes. Can we recommend both? Best avoided on weekend evenings because, well, you know.

All-day breakfast, steak and seafood… what more could you ask for? Okay, maybe fewer assignments is a fair request. But really, if you have to be doing homework, aren’t you best to be doing it beside a thick-cut 14 oz. T-bone? Sink your teeth into this steak, and then into your essay. You got this.

What? Hear us out. There’s a 24-hour McDonald’s location at Yonge and College that just so happens to be freakin’ huge. With WiFi, a super-quiet upper level, and McMuffins and nuggets galore, you can’t really beat a late-night study-sesh at ‘Don’s. You might even end up… lovin’ it.
