The wait is finally over. Japanese mega-chain Uncle Tetsu opens its first ever Montreal outlet today.

The makers of melt-in-your-mouth cheesecakes already boasts Canadian locations in Toronto and Vancouver. A new outpost on Rue Pierce near Guy-Concordia is the premier location in Montreal.

The chain boasts a cult-like following for its menu featuring fluffy, souffle-like cheesecakes in plain and matcha flavours, along with a range of sweets that also includes, honey madeleines, biscuit-sized cheesecake rusks, and cheese tarts.

Line-ups should be expected at the new bakeshop and are a byproduct of the bakery’s famous policy of producing only a limited quantity each hour to ensure quality and freshness.
