Yesterday didn’t feel like the usual fall weather that comes with the beginning of October in Montreal. Tuesday’s heat topped the city’s temperature record for the hottest October 9 in recorded history.
According to Environment Canada, 2018’s October 9 eclipsed a 60-year-old record that was set in 1958 when the city dealt with 25°C temperatures.
Though average temperatures hover around 14°C for October 9th in Montreal, the city was hit with a surge of heat yesterday that topped out at 26.7°C coupled with a humidex value of 34°C at 4 pm.
After being hit with a dose of heat that reminded us of our dangerous summer weather, we’re slated to deal with two straight days of rain before the sun makes a brief, and cooler return on Friday.
