A smog warning remains in effect for Montreal.

According to Environment Canada, “high concentrations of fine particulates are expected and will result in poor air quality.”

The warning is in effect for the following regions:

    • Châteauguay – La Prairie area
    • Laval area
    • Longueuil – Varennes area
    • Montréal Island area

“We can all help improve air quality by doing simple things, such as limiting the use of fireplaces and wood-burning stoves, opting to use public transit, reducing our driving speed and not letting our car engines idle unnecessarily.”

The weather agency suggests limiting the use of fireplaces and wood-burning stoves, opting to use public transit, reducing driving speed and not letting car engines idle unnecessarily, in order to reduce smog.
