Montreal women in-need receive free shopping spree for International Women's Day

Nearly 150 Montreal women in-need were treated to a free early shopping spree on Tuesday, in honour of International Women’s Day.

The event took place at Ardene’s Decarie location on rue des Jockeys in Montreal. Homeless and at-risk women were able to fill their shopping bags with clothes, shoes, accessories, and seasonal apparel.

The third annual event was made possible by a partnership between the Ardene Foundation and the Shoebox Project.

The Ardene Foundation is Ardene’s charity organization focuses on women’s empowerment and spreading self-love to the community.

“We celebrate women every day, but International Women’s Day is an exciting platform for us to do good and build awareness… from Ardene’s head office and store employees, to our customers, and our community – our goal is to stand with strong women everywhere,” said the Foundation in a press release.

Since the beginning of their partnership, the Ardene Foundation has contributed over $300,000 of merchandise towards the Shoebox Project and its charitable initiatives.
