Saint-Hubert Plaza is getting a $50-million facelift, and work to take apart the glass awnings already began yesterday.
By the end of 2018, the City of Montreal is promising to renovate the street by:
- Upgrading underground infrastructure (sewer and water mains)
- Replacing the awning by a lighter and clearer installation
- Expanding sidewalks
- Developing public places and the introduction of distinctive street furniture
- Aligning trees along the marquise
Free Wi-Fi access will also be available to the entire street once construction is complete.
“This will increase the comfort and friendliness of this artery while improving its aesthetics and the visibility of businesses.”
The project is expected to be complete by the end of 2018.
