PK Subban calls on fans to help Montreal child find rare bone marrow match
NHL star PK Subban is using his foundation, his social media and his goodwill to help save a six-year-old girl in Montreal.
The girl, Ellia White, is fighting leukemia for the second time and is in need of a bone marrow donor.
In a Tweet, Subban had some encouraging words for the young girl, “Keep fighting Ellie!! You’re a champion. We’re all thinking of you.”
The Nashville Predators defenceman started a foundation in 2015, when he was a member of the Montreal Canadiens, as he donated $10 million to the Montreal Children’s Hosptial, the largest charitable donation by any professional athlete ever.
It’s warriors like Ellie that inspire us every day. She was diagnosed with a severe form of Leukemia & now needs a bone marrow transplant in order to survive.
Swab for Ellie.

The Toronto native also posted the message and pictures on his Instagram page and called on people to ‘Swab for Ellie,’ while including links to join the registry as well as the donations website.
Bone marrow matches are extremely difficult to find as they require a rare match between the donor and patient.
To register as a donor, visit the Héma-Québec website and follow the “Swab for Ellie” Facebook page for updates.
