Check out Montreal's mobile climbing gym before it closes for the winter

Nomad Bloc is an outdoor mobile climbing gym that travels all over Montreal. The city’s first moveable bouldering centre has 17-foot high walls, a 1,800-sq-ft climbing surface and can be compacted and transported on any normal sized transport truck.

Inaugurated in July, Nomad Bloc has just returned from the Jackalope adrenaline festival and is currently set up at Technolope Angus where it will remain until the end of the month.

“This urban and exotic destination offers superior-quality bouldering, to both beginners and experts alike. With its bouldering surface of 1,800-sq-ft, this climbing gym is the perfect destination to exercise while escaping from your everyday routine,” reads the Nomad Bloc website. “Our passionate team provides a welcoming space for guests; all within a relaxed, social atmosphere with captivating activities.

“Nomad Bloc: it’s a trip to the mountains in your own backyard.”

With just a few weeks left in the outdoor climbing season, Nomad Bloc is considering their longterm winter options. Their immediate objective is to operate all over Montreal in the summer months before heading down south to the US for the winter.

The nomadic bouldering centre would eventually like to set up a permanent indoor venue to offer their services from November to February in their hometown of Montreal.
