Place des Arts is about to be transformed into a Nordic showcase.

From Wednesday, April 4 to Sunday, April 29, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Iceland, and Finland will all be represented through the ‘Nordic Spring’ project that’s being hosted at Place des Arts.

The artistic and cultural event is being presented to let visitors discover and understand the creativity and magic of the Nordic countries, as well as to place a highlight on their values of cooperation, humanism and environmental awareness. Audiences will be able to immerse themselves in the culture and lifestyle of Northern European countries.

Nordic Spring will feature more than 80 international artists, 25 performances, and 15 free activities, all based on theatre, opera, dance, circus, music, digital art, visual art, and literature.

Some of the highlighted events include NeoArctic, a unique opera and light show that mixes a celebrated Latvian choir, internationally renowned artists, and Jesper Kongshaug, who created the lighting installation for the popular television series, House of Cards.

Another highlighted event is Frost, an exhibition by renowned photographer Fred Ivar Utsi Klemetsen, which highlights the way of life for the Sámi, an indigenous Arctic people from northern Finland, Norway, and Sweden.

Some events require the purchase of a ticket, which can be bought online.
