Montreal will add more pedestrian streets for the summer months for both festivals and events.

The City of Montreal announced the following streets would become car-free this summer:

  • Decelles Street between Décarie and Sainte-Croix streets (Ville Saint-Laurent borough)
  • Place Masson between 5th and 6th avenues (Rosemont-La-Petite-Patrie)
  • Gilford Street between Saint-Denis and Rivard streets (Plateau-Mont-Royal)

These pedestrian streets will include artistic elements, street furniture, and spaces for various activities.

The City says that these streets will become pedestrian spaces in June 2018.

Montreal now has over 50 seasonal, temporary, and permanent pedestrian streets.
