We made it to the halfway point, Montreal. As a small reward, we’ve put together a list of five eventful things happening today, Wednesday, September 19. Have some fun as we turn focus to the latter half of the week.

Ziggy Marley

David Nesta “Ziggy” Marley is a Jamaican musician and leader of the band Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers, and the son of reggae icon Bob Marley and Rita Marley.

Boasting eight Grammy awards, Ziggy Marley is promoting his seventh studio album, Rebellion Rises and he’s performing at what will be an electric show at MTELUS tonight.

Fun fact: Ziggy Marley performed the theme song for the children’s cartoon, Arthur.

Pizza Fest

Grab a slice of everyone’s favourite comfort food as 50 participating restaurants in Montreal will create their own, unique pizza.

At the end of the 13-day festival, one place will be crowned the tasty winner of Montreal’s Pizza Fest.

MEC Photo Exhibition

The best photographs from Quebec are being showcased tonight at an outdoor venue at Riverside St-Henri.

MEC has reached out to outdoor enthusiasts from across the province and will host photos that tell stories, show our region’s beauty, and entice people to get in touch with mother nature.

The best 24 of these pictures will be showcased outdoors and winners of each category (nature, portrait, urban, people’s choice) will be announced at the end of the exhibition.

Orange Julep Vintage Car Night

The Orange Julep is one of Montreal’s most well-known structures and restaurants. It’s a giant orange that makes an incredible poutine and a very tasty orange juice (obviously). Today, the Julep’s parking lot will be full of vintage cars, trucks and motorcycles and at the end of the night, spectators vote on the winner, a Montreal tradition.

McKibbin’s Irish Pub Hooley Night

McKibbin’s Irish Pub hosts their ‘Hooley Night’ tonight on the third floor. Ladies pay $10 at the door, gentlemen pay $25 and then it’s an open bar, all you can drink. The bar offers Moosehead beer, vodka, gin, rum, rye and whiskey as part of the special. The third floor features a dance floor and a DJ.

If you’re looking to dance and drink on a Wednesday night, it’s tough to find a better deal than McKibbin’s. Get there nice and early to beat the line.
