Thursdays are like weekend appetizers and when the weather is this nice, they’re even that much more enjoyable. To make your Thursday even easier, there’s a bunch of fun things happening in the city today, July 12.

Taste of the Caribbean

The Taste of the Caribbean festival honours the island culture and community. The four-day festival will host a variety of free activities: cooking and mixology demos, concerts, children’s activities, and a themed dance festival.

There will also be tasty genuine Caribbean food available for purchase.

Isle of Dogs on Mont Royal

Cinéma en plein air will be projecting Wes Anderson’s Isle of Dogs outside, on Mont-Royal. Before the screening, there will be a BBQ and live music starting at 6 pm. Organizers urge guests to bring chairs.

Isle of Dogs will only be presented in French (no English subtitles) and guests are encouraged to bring their dogs.

LA RUE COMPLÈTEMENT CiRQUE in Verdun

LA RUE COMPLÈTEMENT CiRQUE is a circus festival that includes tightrope walkers, trapeze art, balancing and trampoline acts, fire art, jugglers, gymnastics, live music, and human pyramids, all using the urban landscape of Montreal as their stages.

During their journey throughout the city, COMPLÈTEMENT CiRQUE will set up in Verdun tonight.

Alex Brown and the Hepcats Album Launch

Alex Brown and the Hepcats are hosting a launch for their new album ‘Reckless Ways.’ The rockabilly rock and roll album has completely new original songs which the Hepcats will be performing live at La Sala Rosa. You can be sure that rockabilly swing dancing will bust out too.

Shakespeare in the Park – Dorval

The long-running outdoor theatre event has been performing around Montreal all July and will continue through until August. The 30th anniversary of the production embarks on  Romeo & Juliet: Love is Love during their month-long journey with shows every day.

Today’s performance takes place in Dorval.

Repercussion Theatre produces the show with a contemporary, gender-bent take on the classic love story. The cast includes 10 dynamic performers, a gorgeous outdoor set, and live music.

Snacks and drinks will be sold at the park and if you don’t bring your own chair, you can rent one for $5.
