Calling all feline lovers: Montreal is hosting its very own Caturday

Good news Montreal cat lovers.

First Caturday will be taking place at Parc Villeray on Saturday, September 2.

According to organizers, First Caturday “is the day to reclaim the glory of the parks for our furry friends. They are otherwise sadly trapped in the most boring of containers: the inside.”

It will be a day of cat socializing but be aware of Montreal’s regulation about pets.

By law, each cat has to be registered. Event organizers also strongly advise everyone to have a medal for their pet (it’s a small fee) so they don’t have any problem with pet control.

The group will meet on the north side, close to Jarry Street. There is free parking in the park and it’s from walking distance from Jarry (orange line) or Fabre (blue line) metro.

Who says the outdoors is just for dogs!
