Montreal police warn drivers of worsening road conditions due to snow

As snow continues to fall in Montreal, police are warning residents to drive with caution on their commute home as road conditions are expected to deteriorate.

“Difficult Road Conditions. Be careful and patient on your way home: Keep your distance, slow down and signal your intentions early on. #WinterDriving,” said SPVM on Twitter.

STM has also sent out a warning about this evening’s road conditions.

“Road conditions worsen as snow continues to fall and delays are to be expected on our bus network. Expect a slower afternoon commute and be careful when travelling back home!”

Earlier today, Highway 20 near Mont-Mont-Saint-Hilaire closed in both directions due to a pileup involving dozens of vehicles. Police say poor weather conditions on the roads led to the crash.

According to Environment Canada, 10 cm of snow is expected to fall in Montreal today. However, conditions are expected to ease up overnight.
