Attention foodies!

Montreal is set to hosting yet another foodie festival, the Martinique Gourmande Culinary Festival. Kicking off this Thursday, September 15th and lasting 10 whole days, the 9th edition of this fun festival is guaranteed to bring some sun and spices to Montrealers everywhere.

The Martinique Gourmande Culinary Festival brings together over 25 of the city’s bars and restaurants, all of whom will be creating a Martinique-inspired dish or drink for the festival.

Participating restaurants include Juliette et Chocolat, L’Gros Luxe Sud Ouest, La Tannerie, Barraca, Bleu Raisin, Le Margaux, Pandore, Le Valois, and many more.

What is food from Martinique like, you may be wondering? Well, due to Martinique’s long and complex history, its cuisine is a blend of French, African, Indian, and Caribbean. In essence, it’s ridiculously yummy.

Finally, each year the festival hosts one guest of honour. This year’s guest of honour is Chef Jean-Charles Bredas, hailing all the way from Martinique itself. Bredas will be running a masterclass in the lead up to the festival, in which he will announce the Official Martinique Gourmande 2016 Cocktail.

Don’t miss the opportunity to eat some delicious food and learn about the culture of one fascinating country.
