A new ultra low-cost wireless service is now available in Quebec

Lucky Mobile, an inexpensive, no commitment wireless service, is now available in Quebec and the Atlantic province. They’re offering nationwide talk and text plans starting at $10 a month.

According to a news release, the service aims to help students, people on a fixed income and customers without an established credit history as they don’t sneakily add any surprise overage charges.

Budget-conscious Canadians in all provinces can benefit from packages that include unlimited local and Canada-wide calls, unlimited texts and 2 GB of data for $40 per month.

In order to avoid unwanted charges, customers are notified by text if they are about to use services outside of their pre-paid plan. Should customers wish to use out-of-plan services, they can purchase passes for $3 to $5 that allow them greater access.

Lucky Mobile offers LG, Motorola and Alcatel phone models starting at $70 or customers are encouraged to bring their own phone to host the new service.
