Japan is known for its love for anime.

And when it came to showcasing Canada in a new tourism campaign, it combined that love with some of our most popular local landmarks.

A Japanese anime Canadian tourism ad was released this week, and the piece is titled “Warm, winter Canada.”

The crisp animation shows places like Banff, the Canadian Rockies, Vancouver’s Granville Island Market, Niagara Falls, and Toronto’s Nathan Phillips Square.

The 30-second video flies by, but really captures the essence of winter in Canada.

Of special mention is the short’s creator: It was made by director Makoto Shinkai, the creator of the highest internationally-grossing film of all time – 2016’s Your Name anime film.

Having anime used for ads is not unusual for Japan, who also have ads for McDonald’s in anime.

Arigatōgozaimashita, Japan!
