Hudson's Bay Barbie doll coming this October

Barbie has never looked so chic.

When she’s not a veterinarian, dentist, a paratrooper, or an ambassador for world peace, Barbie apparently likes to wear the Hudson’s Bay stripes when she’s kicking back.

A limited-edition doll wearing a coat and pencil skirt with the famed multi-coloured stripes will be released by Hudson’s Bay on October 5.

She’ll also wear oversized glasses, a black turtleneck, a knit toque, and ankle boots.

And a dog.

And a phone case with the Hudson’s Bay stripes.

“Bougie Barbie” might be a more appropriate name, it seems.

“Our vision was to imbue our doll with an independent, creative spirit – a spirit that resonates not only with Barbie but with our brand as well,” says Hilary Kelley, Vice President, Design, HBC Collections, Hudson’s Bay in a release.

“This Barbie lives by a code defined by her personal mantra: be an on the go free thinker; be kind, be brave; strive to be better; and always seek adventure.”

Who knew a hunk of plastic could be a free thinker? Way to show ’em, Babs.

You’ll be able to buy this Barbie at Hudson’s Bay stores across the country or online at thebay.com. She’ll cost you a bit of a pretty penny, however, as the doll retails at $60.
