There’s a dream job for everyone, and this one is for the cat lovers out there.

A cat sanctuary on the Greek island of Syros is looking for a caregiver for its little furry ones. The owner made a public post on Facebook, filled with photos of the cats and the home they live in, asking for someone to take over the daily duties at the cat sanctuary in their absence.

Syros, as the original poster calls it “a small paradise,” is located south-east of Athens, and has just over 20,000 residents. And the island is home to the 55 cats residing in the sanctuary.

“I am looking for someone who can take over the daily running of my Greek cat sanctuary in my absence,” reads the dream job posting. “You will have 55 cats in your care and need to be able to overview them all + feed and medicate (big added bonus if you’re trained vet. nurse!).”

As part of the job, the successful applicant will have a fully paid (incl. water & electricity) semi-detached modern house with its own garden that includes a direct view to the Aegean Sea, plus a salary.

The daily hours are that of a part time job (approx. 4 hours), though the poster reminds everyone that the salary reflects the fact “that you get the house for free (with everything paid.)” The applicant must know how to drive a standard car in case the cats get sick and need to be driven to the vet.

“We are located in a secluded nature preserved area which is very tranquil and quiet in winter time but busy during the summer. You’ll no doubt thrive best if you are the type of person who appreciates nature and likes tranquility – and rest comfortably in your own company,” says the post. “That said, you’ll never feel lonely in the company of the cats and you’ll be expected to live with a small handful of cats in your house.”

While the ad says, “from experience the job is most suitable for someone 45+ years of age,” they are also looking for someone who’s responsible, reliable, honest, practically inclined.

Besides feeding them, the job involves giving the cats love and attention.

“You will at times be expected to trap or handle a feral or non-sociable cat, so knowing something about a cats psychology too is important + cat-whispering skills should come natural to you,” states the post.

The job is a long term one, with a minimum of 6 months required, and would start at the beginning of October.
