Environment Canada’s frost advisory has remained in effect for the Greater Montreal area this morning.
Montreal is in store for conflicting weather over the next few days and today’s frost advisory will launch weather that is expected to feel like -1°C on Thursday before boosting up to 12°C on Friday.
“Frost advisories are issued when temperatures are expected to reach the freezing mark during the growing season, leading to potential damage and destruction to plants and crops,” as per the weather website. “Take preventative measures to protect frost-sensitive plants and trees.”
The advisory, which was initially issued at 3:08 pm on Tuesday, will affect the following regions:
- Châteauguay – La Prairie area
- Laval area
- Longueuil – Varennes area
- Montréal Island area
Affected regions are slated to get temperatures that will drop to below freezing on Wednesday night with a risk of thunderstorms throughout the day before dropping to -5°C in the early hours of Thursday morning.
