This summer’s taco festival just announced a mouthwatering restaurant lineup
Montreal’s first ever taco festival, El Mercado del Taco, just got a whole lot tastier.
The festival has announced which local spots will be cooking up some tasty tacos and as if a taco festival isn’t already enticing enough, the restaurant lineup is stellar:

- Tacos Victor
- Mi Ranchito
- Burrito Borracho
- Grumman ’78
- Caifan
- Tacos Monkland
- La Taqueria
- Smoke Show
- La Mexicoise
- Mr Azteca
- Mezcaleros
El Mercado del Taco will celebrate Mexican food and culture from around the city. Besides exhibiting local chefs and vendors, guests of honour, Chef Herrera and Chef Juan Emilio Villaseñor will be flying in from Mexico to showcase their award-winning cooking skills.
Traditional Mexican professional wrestlers (luchado enmascarados) will also be joining the fun. Psicosis “Nicho el Millonario” and Argenis will represent Mexico in a wrestling match against locals The Green Phantom and Mike “SpeedBall” Bailey.
The venue will also host DJs and guests will be able to vote for their “Best Taco” award which will be announced 48 hours after the festival.

Each restaurant will offer a variety of specialty tacos and vegetarian options will also be available for purchase.
General admission costs $21 and all entrance tickets grant guests an opportunity to win a 3-night round-trip vacation to Mexico, in the chic neighbourhood of Condesa.
Student tickets are available for $16 and children under 12 get in for free. Each ticket includes a $3 coupon for the varying prices of tacos at the festival.
El Mercado del Taco will donate a portion of the proceeds to the Starlight Children’s
Foundation of Canada meaning devouring an impressive amount of tacos will not only be tasty, it’ll go to a good cause.
