Drunk man arrested after breaking into house, making snack, and falling asleep on couch

A 20-year-old man from the Halifax area is facing some hangover today after RCMP officers arrested him for a string of offences after being called to a home in Timberlea.

But not his home…

“Just prior to 3 a.m. this morning, a home owner woke up to find an intoxicated man sleeping on their sofa,” Nova Scotia RCMP said in a release.

“It appears the man entered through an unlocked door, made a snack and decided to take a nap on the sofa in the living room.”

Throw in an immediate apology and it might be the most Canadian crime ever.

We’ve all been there of course. I mean who hasn’t had a few drinks and promptly felt an unquenchable appetite for snacks and snoozing? But most of us at least wait until we get back to our own apartments to do it.

But the incident was no laughing matter for the 20-year-old suspect from Beaverbank, who is facing charges for Being Unlawfully in a Dwelling-House, Illegal Possession, and three counts of Breach of Probation.
