Dollarama recalls over 500,000 units of popular children's toy
Health Canada has issued a nationwide recall of the “skip ball,” a popular toy made of a pink ankle loop and a multicoloured ball.
Approximately 516,125 units of the popular children’s toy have been sold in Canada from January 2012 to July 2018.

Originally made in China, the skip ball toy may contain levels of phthalates that exceed the allowable limit.
According to Health Canada, studies suggest that certain phthalates, including DEHP, can cause reproductive or developmental abnormalities in young children when soft vinyl products contain phthalates are sucked or chewed for extended periods of time.
Consumers are told to take the recalled product away and either dispose of them or return them to the store to obtain a refund (no receipt required).
The Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold, or even given away in Canada.
Dollorama confirms that at this time, they haven’t received any reports of injuries related to the use of the toy.
