Over 60,000 dishwashers being recalled in Canada due to fire hazard

Over 60,000 dishwashers are being recalled in Canada due to a fire hazard.

According to Health Canada, dishwasher brands Bosch, Thermador, Gaggenau, Jenn-Air and Kenmore are all impacted by the recall. The issue involves a power cord that can overheat.

Approximately 61,000 units of the affected products were sold in Canada, all sold between January 2013 to May 2015 at appliance and speciality retailers, department stores, authorized builder distributors, and home improvement stores nationwide and online.

If you own one of these dishwashers, Health Canada says to immediately stop using them and contact the Safety Recall Hotline at 1-888-965-5813 from 8 am to 8 pm EST Monday through Sunday for free inspection and repair.
