Zazie Beetz, the actor playing Domino in Deadpool 2, has shared her heartbreak over the death of her stunt double during filming in Vancouver on Monday.

Joi ‘SJ’ Harris, 40, was killed when the motorcycle she was riding crashed through a window of the Shaw Tower near Jack Poole Plaza on Canada Place Way.

Originally from New York, Harris had reportedly not worked on a film set before and was not wearing a helmet when she crashed.

According to her website, Harris, was the first African American woman to actively compete in American Motorcyclist Association road racing events.

Deadpool 2, the superhero sequel starring Ryan Reynolds, did not resume filming until Wednesday, with Reynolds leading a minute’s silence on set to honour Harris.

Reynolds and his co-star Josh Brolin issued statements about Harris’ death on Monday, but Beetz has waited to share her grief until Wednesday.

In an Instagram, Zazie said her “heart has been breaking the past two days” and she has been “searching for what to say or do.”
