You know how Comiccon festivals have turned into anything but comics?

This weekend, you don’t need costumes, toys, or weapons – just a love for comic books.

Montreal’s BD (Bande Dessinée) Festival is a comic exhibition for fans who are curious about the world of comic books and graphic novels.

The outdoor festival is an opportunity for comic book fanatics and/or hopeful artists to meet local and international cartoonists, attend talks, and live drawing sessions to further their studies.

The exhibition will also hold a selection of a variety of different comic book genres to browse and purchase.

The festival includes comic book workshops, an editorial panel, a book launch, Q & A, book signings, and in-depth studies of popular genres including superhero, manga, humour, and graphic novels.

BD Montreal has added a second tent this year in accordance with its rising popularity in the Montreal community.

Over 130 artists and authors from around the world will be on hand at the event and over 45 exhibitors will be showcasing both exciting new pieces and classic works. Visit the website for the full list of exhibitors.

The event is proud to offer the exhibition and panel discussions in both English and French while offering bilingual content with a variety of content available in both languages.

All activities are free and open to the public. The festival boasts an enchanting decor under cover of a big tent and will occur regardless of what the weather brings.
