Montrealers break out their most stylish chapeaux at this luncheon fundraiser next month

May 23 2018, 10:38 pm

Chapeau Mont Royal returns for its 5th annual fundraiser with one of the most creative benefits in Montreal.

Inspired by the Frederick Law Olmsted Awards Luncheon in New York, this fundraiser gathers citizens and prominent members of the community for cocktails and a gourmet lunch at the Kondiaronk Lookout in the Mont Royal Chalet.

The benefit is hosted by Les Amis de Montagne and all members must meet the dress code: a fancy hat.

Attendees gather outside for photographs and cocktails before the luncheon which takes place inside the chalet with a meal prepared by the Fairmont’s Queen Elizabeth Hotel.

According to the event page, “the funds raised with this event support educational programs on Mount Royal, for young people to enjoy nature and deepen their understanding of the challenges of caring for this spectacular natural site in the heart of the city.”

It’s for a great cause and let’s be honest, an opportunity to wear fancy hats doesn’t come around often enough.

Tickets cost $250 but you are given a $125 tax receipt.
