Canadian man drives from bar to police station to prove he’s not drunk

It’s a given that people don’t always make the best choices after a few drinks. But as one Canadian man found out recently, even when those ideas are rooted in good intentions, they can still backfire.

Such was the case for the 32-year-old man from Caledon, Ontario.

According to Peel Regional Police, the man had been drinking at a local bar with his friends, when they accused him of being too drunk to drive.

Rather than listen to what was likely good advice from them, he decided it was time to prove a point. The man then got in his car and drove himself to a police station in Mississauga to “prove to his friends his was not impaired.”

As it turns out, he was.

The man has since been charged with impaired driving related offences.

While it might be true that you can’t blame a guy for trying, the fact remains that no matter how many drinks you’ve had, it’s always a better idea to just stay off the road.
