Now that summer is finally within reach, there’s no better time to pack your bags and book a trip — preferably to somewhere abroad.

But with so many incredible countries to choose from, deciding on a final destination can quickly become a challenge in itself.

Thankfully, travel expert Contiki, has released the top 10 travel destinations young Canadians have on their bucket lists for 2018, right in time for summer travel.

The study is part of a wider research project entitled The Power of Travel, which looks into all the ways in which travel makes young people the best versions of themselves.

The research surveyed young Canadians from coast to coast on where they are looking forward to visiting this summer with the UK, Germany, and Japan topping many wander-lists.

So where exactly do Canadian want to jet off to this summer?

Mexico

Coming in at number eight is one of the world’s most populated countries, China. “Its climate, cuisine, terrain, endless adventurers, and buzzing cities make China one of the most diverse countries around, and Canadians want to experience it all,” says Contiki.

Caribbean Islands

For those thinking about booking a tropical getaway, the Caribbean is home to 700 picturesque islands, reefs, sandy beaches, and unlimited sunshine. According to Contiki, “young Canadians indicated the desire for more immersive experiences in the Caribbean that venture out of the resort walls. They want to see the real deal, and not be stuck in line at a buffet.”

Bolivia

The final summer travel destination to make it onto the list is Bolivia, which is a great spot for adventure seekers. “4-Wheel-Drive over the iconic salt flats, Salar De Uyuni, to get your creative pics, before visiting the 100% haunted Great Train Graveyard, an adventure of a different kind,” reads the Contiki report.
