Sometimes you’re just in the mood for a taco. They’re quick, tasty, and normally quite inexpensive. So if the thought of a taco is making you salivate right now, then you should definitely head on over to one of the 9 taco spots listed below!

Super Taco

This tiny hole in the wall restaurant is popular amongst students and locals. Every Wednesday, Super Taco serves up $1 tacos. Not only are they inexpensive, they’re delicious. Served on warm tortillas and filled with grilled meat and veggies, you can’t go wrong with spending $1 on these.

This downtown spot from the team behind Biiru, serves up a funky space that offers a mean mezcal and a menu filled with unique and delicious tacos. Their tapas and raw menu is also amazing giving you a plethora of Mexican fare to chose from.

Where: 1206 Avenue Union, Montreal

Maïs

A trendy spot on Saint Laurent Boulevard known for its hip vibe, innovative taco menu, and organic offerings. One of our favourites on the menu is the fish, avocado, cabbage, and chili taco. But if seafood isn’t your thing, don’t worry, there are plenty of options for meat lovers too. The bonus? Their tequila selection is off the hook!

Where: 5439 St-Laurent, Montreal

Tacos Victor

St. Henri’s favourite taco joint serves up the usual offerings of shrimp, beef tongue, sirloin, flap steak, and veggies. The kicker here is that all the tacos come with fries inside making them extra tasty.

Where: 4376 rue Notre-Dame Ouest, Montreal

El Rey del Taco

Located just next to the Jean-Talon Market, El Rey del Taco does Mexican cuisine extremely well. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, you can get a taco at El Rey del Taco anytime you like (they even deliver!). They keep things simple and yummy by serving up the classics like pork, chicken, steak, and fish tacos.

Where: 232 Rue Jean-Talon E, Montreal

This small Mexican joint in the Upper Plateau is the place to be when it comes to tacos in the summertime. With a beautiful outdoor patio expanding out onto Saint Denis, there’s no better place to sip on a Margarita and enjoy delicious tacos. Our favourite? La Matraca’s pineapple spit-grilled pork tacos.

Where: 4607 Rue Saint-Denis, Montreal

Ta Chido

Serving up some of the best Mexican food in Montreal, Ta Chido is located in Outremont/Mile End. While they make some mean sandwiches and quesadillas, Ta Chido’s tacos really steal the show. The Pulled Pork Taco is a fan favourite and is made with pulled pork, coriander, and onions. However, if you’re looking for something a little more interesting the Taco Azteca comes with pork rinds and fried grasshoppers.

Where: 5611 Park Avenue, Montreal

Carlos & Pepe’s

Carlos & Pepe’s is a favourite amongst McGill and Concordia students due to its close proximity to campus, the large drink menu, and the inexpensive tacos. Carlos & Pepe’s are not exactly known for their authentic Mexican food, but their $1 tacos with rice are really quite tasty and the price is unbeatable.

Where: 1420 Rue Peel, Montreal

Cartel Street Food Bar

Cartel Street Food Bar is where it’s at on Tuesday nights. Serving up their scrumptious street-style tacos for just $2 a pop, you’re in for a treat. Popular fillings include baja fish, fried plantains, sauteed mushrooms, and grilled shrimp.
