As the weather turns hot and humid, it’s important to have a way of cooling off, and there’s nowhere better than in one of Montreal’s public outdoor swimming pools!

Many are free of charge to the public and are conveniently located near metro stations so you really can’t go wrong!

Plan a poolside outing this summer at any of the 8 outdoor pools below.

Jarry Pool

Go for a swim in this lowkey pool located in Parc Jarry. One of Montreal’s largest urban parks contains none other than a swimming pool for kids and adults alike. The facilities are simple but will definitely cool you off after a long, hot day in the sun. And the best part? Unlike other public pools in Montreal, Jarry Pool is totally free to swim in!
When: Until August 20
Where: 205 Gary Carter Street

Confederation Pool

Head to Monkland Village to swim in Parc de la Confederation’s outdoor swimming pool. It’s open all summer long and is completely free of charge to the public!
When: Until August 28

Consistently packed with Montrealers from all boroughs, Piscine Sir-Wilfrid-Laurier is a fantastic place to go with a group of friends. Renovated just a few years ago, the pool now has a large tanning deck along with a surrounding picnic area.

In Cote-des-Neiges’ Parc Kent is where you’ll find this outdoor pool! Kent Park Pool is free to the public and open until the end of the summer, plus there are tennis courts nearby and plenty of green space to relax in post-swim.
When: Until August 28
Where: 6262 Chemin Hudson

John F. Kennedy Outdoor Pool

Never overcrowded or overrun with children, especially on weekdays and during the designated adult-only swim times, JFK Outdoor Pool is the place to be if you’re looking for a relaxing afternoon in the sun. There are beach chairs, umbrellas, and tons of pool toys so you can settle in for as long as you like.
When: Until September 4
Where: 860 Avenue Outremont

Joseph-Paré Swimming Pool
