7 outdoor swimming pools to visit in Montreal

As the weather turns hot and humid, it’s important to have a way of cooling off, and there’s nowhere better than in one of Montreal’s public outdoor swimming pools!

Many are free of charge to the public and are conveniently located near metro stations so you really can’t go wrong!

Jarry Pool

Go for a swim in this lowkey pool located in Parc Jarry. One of Montreal’s largest urban parks contains none other than a swimming pool for kids and adults alike. The facilities are simple but will definitely cool you off after a long, hot day in the sun. And the best part? Unlike other public pools in Montreal, Jarry Pool is totally free to swim in!

Confederation Pool

Head to Monkland Village to swim in Parc de la Confederation’s outdoor swimming pool. It’s open all summer long and is completely free of charge to the public!

Sir-Wilfrid-Laurier Pool

Consistently packed with Montrealers from all boroughs, Piscine Sir-Wilfrid-Laurier is a fantastic place to go with a group of friends. Renovated just a few years ago, the pool now has a large tanning deck along with a surrounding picnic area.

Kent Park Pool

In Cote-des-Neiges’ Parc Kent is where you’ll find this outdoor pool! Kent Park Pool is free to the public and open until the end of the summer, plus there are tennis courts nearby and plenty of green space to relax in post-swim.

John F. Kennedy Outdoor Pool

Never overcrowded or overrun with children, especially on weekdays and during the designated adult-only swim times, JFK Outdoor Pool is the place to be if you’re looking for a relaxing afternoon in the sun. There are beach chairs, umbrellas, and tons of pool toys so you can settle in for as long as you like.

Dive right into Rosemont’s Joseph-Paré Swimming Pool! This outdoor pool is a great place to cool off on a hot and humid summer’s day. Plus, it’s free for both adults and children and open every day of the week until the end of the summer.

Verdun Natatorium

Get your fill of water and art at the Verdun Natatorium. Designed in the art-deco style, the Verdun Natatorium is a sight to behold…after you take a dip in their refreshing swimming pool, that is. The pool is family-friendly and is located right next to the Lachine Canal.
