Vancouver Aquarium gets Twitter love from Jimmy Fallon for supporting paper straws
Looks like late-night talk show host Jimmy Fallon and the Vancouver Aquarium have something in common: they both agree that plastic straws should not be a thing.
This week, Fallon had Alex Ovechkin and Braden Holtby of the Washington Capitals on the show to chat about their historic Stanley Cup win.
Of course, they had to take a celebratory drink out of the Cup – but with paper straws to keep it environmentally friendly (see the clip at the 4:20 mark).
The Vancouver Aquarium was a fan of Fallon’s decision to use paper instead of plastic and gave him a shoutout on Twitter.
“Add “ocean” to the list of things these guys are #chamions of —paper straws!” wrote the Aquarium.

And Fallon showed some Twitter love right back!
“Oh yeah. It’s PAPER straws or NO straws,” he responded.

With the ban on single-use plastics becoming an increasingly important issue in Vancouver, it’s nice to see celebs taking part in the movement and becoming #PlasticWise.
Jimmy gets it! #BePlasticWise 🌊💙 https://t.co/tG3RspXVGG
