On March 15, over 200 Montrealers took to the streets of downtown Montreal for the annual police brutality protest.

The protest began at Lafontaine Park and continued to the Gay Village where the windows of at least one business were vandalized and projectiles were thrown.

Police responded to the crowd using pepper spray and tear gas.

“Due to offenses committed, we order demonstrators to disperse and leave immediately. Police intervention is imminent,” SPVM said on Twitter yesterday evening.

According to Montreal police, three people were arrested for assault, three tickets were handed out, one protester was taken to hospital after being hit in the head with a projectile, and three police officers suffered minor injuries.
