Work is quickly progressing on The Amazing Brentwood ahead of its much-anticipated opening in the spring of 2019.

Construction photos taken on Friday show the project is taking shape, and this includes both the major new shopping mall and the complex’s first of many residential buildings.

In fact, the 614-ft-tall, 63-storey Tower ONE residential building ‘topped off’ earlier this month when the final concrete pour was made.

The tower is hard to miss in the emerging Brentwood Town Centre skyline in Burnaby. According to SHAPE, the local developer behind the redevelopment, which is Metro Vancouver’s current largest project. This skyscraper has 591 homes and is the fourth tallest building in the region – just narrowly behind Living Shangri-La, Trump Tower International Hotel & Tower Vancouver, and Solo Altus.

Tower ONE has now topped off:

Tower ONE has 300 rental homes, 291 market homes, and its base includes a portion of the new shopping mall. Its residents will move in next year.

When all phases of the redevelopment on the 28-acre site are complete, there will about a dozen towers with a total of 10,500 homes – accounting for roughly a quarter of the approximate 40,000 homes planned for Brentwood.

Few details have been made public about the new retail, although the developer previously announced it will have over 250 shops and restaurants. It has also partnered with L Catterton Real Estate, the real estate development division of LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton and its holding company Groupe Arnault, to turn The Amazing Brentwood into a mall with high-calibre architecture, public art, and world-renowned and luxury retail brands.

Cineplex will occupy the top level of the podium:

Cineplex will be one of the mall’s anchor tenants, as the theatre company is building a massive 64,700 sq. ft. entertainment centre at the top level of the new mall complex. It will include a VIP cinema with five auditoriums and a special lounge area, plus a massive Rec Room – the new concept Playdium – with over 100 arcade games and simulators, a bowling alley, and dining options such as an upscale restaurant and sports bar.
