Montreal Sketchfest, the city’s biggest and longest celebration of sketch comedy, is returning for May 2018.

In addition to over 60 groups and performers who call Montreal home, they’ll be joined by a handful of comedy groups from across the continent.

Artists will be travelling from Seattle, Winnipeg, Edmonton, Toronto, New York, and Philadelphia to join a loaded roster of sketch comedy performances for the upcoming festival.

Some of the highlighted performances of the festival include:

  • Rapp Battlez: Hosted by Freddie and Miguel Rivas (Comedy Network’s, The Beaverton), the program combines off-the-wall rapping and comedy, as if 8-mile were to meet WWE.
  • Kirsten Rasmussen: “Kirsten, Get Some Friends” is the solo character sketch of a Canadian Comedy Award Winner, known for her character acting, physical comedy, and her yelling. She’s also the winner of the 2017 Just for Laughs award at last year’s festival.
  • Mark & Andy & Dave: The Toronto based sketch troupe are known as Canada’s premiere sketch trio, being hailed as such numerous times by the Globe & Mail. They’re also extensively known through their online videos including Powerthirst, which has more than 30 million views.

Some of the other performances include Hot Raw Fire, Shrinking Matt & Jacquie, The Sketch Republic, Ladyfest, and Arch Machine & The Brunch Club’s Rat Nest, to name a few.

The 13th annual Montreal Sketchfest will take place from Thursday, May 3 to Saturday, May 12, 2018. Single show tickets for the festival will cost $12, day passes can be purchased for $20, and 10-day festival passes will be on sale for $52 (plus tax). All passes can be purchased online.
