Brunch-goers in Toronto’s Church-Wellesley Village will need to find another new spot to fill up on bacon and eggs. Popular Toronto brunch destination, Lola’s Kitchen has abruptly shuttered leaving restaurant workers in the lurch.

A notice posted to the restaurant door informs that the Church Street kitchen is permanently closed.

According to a post on Facebook from the restaurant staff, 45+ employees are now out of the job with no notice after the locks were changed on Labour Day.

The restaurant’s website has already been deactivated.

The restaurant address is due to be redeveloped into a condo and while this wasn’t a surprise, no final day for service was previously announced.
