Learn about new cannabis laws from industry experts this month in Calgary

Oct 4 2018, 9:38 am

The National Institute for Cannabis Health and Education Canada (NICHE) is hosting a Cannabis & Our Community series in various cities across the country.

The forum seeks to educate stakeholders from municipal government, work safety, health care, insurance, tourism, and others that will be impacted by legalization and its changing laws.

A confirmed representative from Health Canada will address topics including an overview of the federal legal framework, engagement with First Nations, Inuit and the Métis Nation, and community support through education, awareness, and compliance.

The full-day event will feature speakers from across the industry such as Mike LeBarre, Mayor of King City; Jonathan Zaid, Director of Advocacy and Corporate Social Responsibility at Aurora Cannabis Inc.; and Doreen Liberto, Owner of Earth Design International (EDI).

Both an educational and networking opportunity, this forum is a must for anyone currently in the industry or looking to participate to get better informed about Canada’s upcoming legalized landscape.
