Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the City of Toronto.

It’s currently 27°C in the city as of 11 am and it’s expected to reach 31°C later this afternoon.

According to Environment Canada, that will leave the city feeling more like 38°C later today with the humidex.

“A hot and humid airmass will affect the Golden Horseshoe today and Monday,” reads the weather warning. “High temperatures are expected to be in the low thirties with humidex values in the high thirties. Overnight temperatures will drop only to the low twenties.”

But the good news is, relief is on the way.

A cold front will move through early Tuesday bringing an end to the heat.

For now, be sure to drink plenty of water even before you feel thirsty and stay in a cool place.

And never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.
