Newly elected PC Leader Doug Ford wants a free market when weed is legalized.

In a radio interview with Ottawa Morning, Ford said that he doesn’t think the government should be controlling cannabis.

“We’re going down a path that no one really knows. I have been open to a fair market and letting the markets dictate. I don’t like the government controlling anything no matter what it is,” Ford told host Robyn Bresnahan.

He continued saying that his party would come up with a strong plan for weed in Ontario.

“I’m open to a free market and I’m going to consult with our caucus, and we’ll be able to come up with a very strong game plan,” he said. “I don’t believe in the government sticking their hands in our lives all the time. I believe in letting the market dictate.”

During his interview, Ford also said he would repeal Ontario’s sex-ed curriculum, and cut the carbon tax.
