Here are the most exciting can’t-miss summer food events in Calgary.
Mexifest
This annual event is a two-day ethnic festival that specifically highlights the culture of Mexico, Mexifest will showcase Mexican gastronomy, arts, music, and culture. Mexifest aims to give YYC a true taste of Mexico, and it’s going to be delicious!
When: July 6 and 7 from 11 am to 11 pm

Stampede Breakfasts
Stampede is fast approaching, and for everyone who’s going to attend The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth, you cannot miss the free Stampede pancake feasts all around town. The tradition has been going on for almost 100 years now, and it is probably one of our favourite parts of Stampede — filling our stomachs with pancakes, sausages, eggs, coffee, and OJ.
When: June 15 to July 15

Midway Eats
It’s finally time to check out all the good coming to the Midway for the first from July 6 – 15, from cricket-covered caramel apples to Prairie Oyster Balls (AKA bull balls) – the 2018 Stampede eats could be the best ones yet.

Taste of Calgary
This three-day food fest will be open daily from 11 am to 9 pm. Sampling tickets are $1 each and attendees can use them to try food or beverage menu items. Admission to the festival is free and includes a taste of Calgary’s best musical acts who will be providing the soundtrack to this culinary event.

Summer Feast
The 10-day dining event allows patrons to take their pick of any three-course prix fixe lunch or dinner menu ranging from $15-$35 at top restaurants in YYC.

BBQ on The Bow
This is an annual BBQ Competition and outdoor festival takes place at the Montgomery Community Association (Shouldice Park) during the Labour Day long weekend. BBQ on the Bow is free to attend and aims to provide something for all ages. Attendees will be able to purchase food from BBQ food trucks and variety of other local vendors on site, and they can cool down in a beer garden on site too.
