The era of legalization across the country is upon us as Canada has officially become the world’s second country – and the first G7 nation – to legalize weed.
With the launch of the Alberta Cannabis website, the cannabis prices for the province have been revealed to the public.
Two cannabis shops in Calgary and 17 have been across the province have opened. Cannabis will also be available for delivery and purchase online.
Clients will be able to choose between dried buds, ground cannabis, pre-rolled joints, cannabis oil, pills, or oral spray.
To give you a gauge on how much the bud costs, we’ve compared prices from the three different types of strain offered (indica, sativa, and hybrid) and organized them the lowest priced to the highest.
All prices are shown for 3.5 grams (except for the last and priciest) and the product’s descriptions are taken from the Cannabis Alberta website.

“Sour Kush delivers the best of both worlds. An indica-dominant cross between Sour Diesel and OG Kush, a unique terpene profile is responsible for its sweet-yet-sour, fuel-like scent.”
“This sativa-dominant, hybrid THC strain’s pretty purple buds are perfectly complemented by its sweet, earthy scents courtesy of the terpenes myrcene, pinene, and caryophyllene.”
“Bred here in Canada, this sativa-dominant hybrid is high in THC with a unique terpene profile and large, airy flowers.”
“Ocean View is a classic, orange-tinged sativa with full trichome coverage. You can expect sweet-smelling buds – just like ripe berries.”
“This indica-dominant strain keeps it simple with a fairly balanced THC-to-CBD level. Keeping things grounded, its earthy, clove-like aroma comes from the terpenes myrcene and caryophyllene.”
“This earthy, honey flavoured strain originating from the (Hippie Trail) spanning Pakistan and Afghanistan. It has all of the best qualities of a medium-high THC dominant Indica strain, with just a sprinkle of Sativa to keep it blended.”
“When life gives you lemons, try Lemon Skunk. A cross of two Skunk strains chosen for their lemon characteristics, this mid-range THC hybrid brings together the scent of lemons and black pepper with hints of citrus.”
