Indulge in your wine obsession at Winefest Calgary (CONTEST)
A spicy bouquet. The full bodied flavour of aged grapes. A small tang of cherry.
If you like the sound of all these things then you’ll definitely enjoy Winefest Calgary.
For the 25th year in a row, Winefest Calgary is offering local wine lovers a weekend of indulgence, where they can expand their palates and enjoy tastes from all vintages.
The festival will feature more than 321 wines – some are from the world’s most celebrated wine regions, while others are from lesser known areas like Hungary and Greece. There will be more than 78 different wineries featured, and 81 wines that are new to Alberta.
While you taste, you’ll be able to give your input on which are the best wines. For the People’s Choice Awards, you can vote for your favourite wine in eight different categories and possibly win a $100 gift card for your thoughts – you can use it at the site’s wine and spirits store to pick up your favourites.
But of course, a wine tasting isn’t quite complete without some great food. The festival will also offer guests appetizers to complement the wines, as well as small snacks from places like Springbank Cheese Company and Master Chocolat.
All these tastings and samples are included in the price of your ticket, along with a Riedel wine glass and tasting notebook.
The festival is divided into three different sections: a Friday evening session, a Saturday afternoon session, and a Saturday evening session. The Saturday evening session is already sold out.
