Winds as high as 90 km/h expected through Calgary tonight

Hold on to your hats and bundle up Calgary, it’s going to be windy tonight.

A strong cold front is moving through Southern Alberta bringing a sharp drop in temperatures, snow, and some very strong winds.

Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for the City of Calgary. Wind warnings and snowfall warnings are in effect for a number of cities across Alberta.

Gusts of 70 km/h are expected after midnight, with the possibility of reaching as high as 90 km/h.

Fortunately, the system will exit the province on Friday morning.

Until then, residents are being warned to be wary of the oncoming winds and loose objects that can cause injury or damage.
