In the heart of the Sacred Valley in Inca, Peru, lies an Instagrammer’s dream at the Maras salt mines.
We can’t stop wanderlusting after these layered panes tucked in between the mountain peaks.
The valley is home to over 6,000 salt mines, each owned and mined by a local family. The harvesting method of these mines has been preserved since they were created by the Incas over 2,000 years ago. The natural springs from the mountain trickle in and the sun evaporated the water, leaving a salty layered Insta-opp.
So what do you think – Bali’s rice terraces, or Peru’s salt mines?! Share your most Instagrammable spots with us using #dailyhivemapped.
