Uber launches 'Real-time ID Check' for drivers to take randomly prompted selfies (PHOTO)

Uber has introduced a new safety feature to its ride sharing app, requiring drivers to take random selfies making sure they are who they say they are.

Drivers will now be prompted take a security selfie prior to accepting rides or at the start of their shift, to compare that image it to the driver’s profile photo.

This added security feature will help ensure the person driving matches the account Uber on file. If the two photos don’t match, the account will be temporarily blocked while Uber  determines why there’s been a mismatch.
