Featuring comfort-foods, reliable favourites, and fruit-topped pastries, here is a list of the 10 most-searched recipes in 2015 according to Google.

1. Apple Roses

It seems as though home cooks were eager to impress their friends this year, with these delicate and delectable puff pastries, which are made with thin apple slices and are shaped like roses.

2. Rice Krispies Squares

Simple and delicious, this in-between-meal snack, adored by both kids and adults alike, was a popular go-to dessert recipe for those seeking a sugary fix.

3. Osso Bucco

Those looking to step things up a notch in the kitchen turned to Google for Osso Bucco recipes. The Milanese speciality is comprised of cross-cut veal shanks braised with vegetables, white wine, and broth.

Google users in their masses took to the search engine this year to find the perfect chili recipe. With endless variations, Google offered up suggestions for vegan, vegetarian, and chunky meat-based bowls.

5. Hollandaise Sauce

Savoury brunch eaters will understand why Hollandaise sauce recipes have been searched for over and over again this year. Wonderfully smooth and creamy, Hollandaise sauce pairs incredibly well with the nation’s favourite brunch time essential, Eggs Benedict.

6. Puffed Wheat Squares

Many users turned to Google to find easy-to-follow recipes for this childhood favourite sweet snack.

7. Spaghetti Bolognese

It’s no shock that spaghetti bolognese has ranked on Google’s trending recipe list for 2015. Not only is this dish a staple dinner time eat in most households, but it also has many incarnations.

8. Beer Can Burgers

The once popular beer can chicken took a back seat this year as BBQ bandits craved something new to throw on the grill. Welcome the beer can burger. Unlike beer can chicken, which is propped up by beer cans inside them, beer can burgers use unopened beer cans to create a ground meat pocket, which is then filled, wrapped in bacon, and grilled over low indirect heat.

9. Lasagna

Internet users not only took to Google to search for new recipes like the beer can burger, but also classic (and somewhat time consuming) dishes, like lasagna. Comforting, creamy, and full of cheesy goodness, who would want to give this recipe a go at home?

10. Mashed Potatoes

Although mashed potatoes may seem like an easy recipe, there are plenty of ways to spice up the old spud repertoire, for example switch up potato types, throw in some cheese, or experiment with herbs and spices.
