What: Travel to the African savanna to marvel at the jumping gazelles, swooping birds, majestic lions and more in the Broadway musical. Listen to the unforgettable songs, like “The Circle of Life”, and the incredible vocalists and musicians producing them.
What: For four years, Downtown Calgary has commissioned outdoor street pianos to encourage people to play and listen to music. On Tuesday, Brandon Smith (soul/jazz/pop) will play and on Thursday, Dave Marshall (pop/rock) will play .

When: Tuesday, September 1 and Thursday, September 3 from noon to 1 p.m.
What: Drop down Sun Life Plaza in downtown Calgary dressed as your favourite superhero or watch as your favourite superheros repel down the side of the building. They will be Raising money for Albertans with disabilities and special needs.
Where: Sun Life Tower 144 – 4th Avenue SW, Calgary
When: Thursday, September 3 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Cost: $1,500 to participate in the “drop down”; Free for spectators
What: The festival is 10 days of music-making, including the Semifinals and Finals of the Honens Piano Competition. Honens searches for the Complete Pianist, a 21rst century artist, out of 10 contestants. The winner will receive $100,000 and a career development program.
