These are the 20 most expensive homes in Canada (PHOTOS/VIDEO)

Real estate portal Point2 Homes has released its annual list of the most expensive homes in Canada, with properties in BC, Ontario and Alberta all making the cut.

To compile the annual list, researchers mined the Point2 Homes’ database, as well as other national portals and brokerages’ listings, according to spokesperson Roxana Baiceanu.

“We noticed there are fewer new mansions for sale in the $30-50 million range, and that high-end properties in Vancouver continue to dominate the list,” Baiceanu told Daily Hive.

“The $20 million-range homes are a lot more popular, it seems, and many of them traded hands in the past year.”

Topping the resulting list is a package deal of three luxurious single family homes in Vancouver, listed at a total of $46,800,000 when bought together.

If that’s a little too steep for you, how about the last house on the list, another Vancouver residence, or should we say, gated estate, listed at $20,088,000?

Oh and one more thing….

Thought that was it? We have one more treat for you. The actual most expensive home for sale in Canada right now is Chelster Hall.

However, Point2 Homes couldn’t include it in their list, because it is only being advertised on realtor Christopher Invidiata’s bespoke site, and not elsewhere.

We include it here, in case you have an extra $65 million to spare:

Chelster Hall, Oakville, ON – $65 million

This “modern-day castle” was built by Hugo Powell for his family, inspired by a real-life English estate hundreds of years old. However, after a decade living there, it’s time to sell.

Chelster Hall offers a main home covering 39,000 sq.ft. with six bedrooms and eight bathrooms, as well as a gate house, lakeside house, and chapel on a lot of 10.3 acres.

Also for your enjoyment, a two-storey library, an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, a bowling alley, a home theatre, a state-of-the-art wine cellar, a sauna, and heated floors.

Worth every cent, we reckon!
