With Christmas quickly approaching, the time has come for herds of people to flock to shopping centers in search of gifts for friends and family.

Finding the perfect gift can be hard, and it becomes infinitely harder when the person you’re buying for doesn’t know what they want (or they won’t tell you what they want).

Luckily, we’re here to help make that whole process easier with a list of 12 technology-based gift ideas this holiday season.

Starting off our tech gift list is one of the hottest smartphones on the market right now: Apple’s iPhone 7 Plus.

The 7 Plus features 1920-by-1080-pixel resolution on its 5.5-inch diagonal display, and a dual rear camera that allows for true 2x optical zoom along with 4K video recording at 30 fps.

The smartphone was just released in mid-September, and is available in multiple colours and capacities, up to a whopping 256 GB of internal storage.

Not an iPhone person? There’s a hot new toy for Android lovers too, and its name is the Google Pixel.

Released in October, the Pixel boasts the best smartphone camera on the market with a 12.3 megapixel camera (8 MP rear camera). It also features a strong battery life and unlimited backup space for your photos and videos.

The Pixel also comes in a larger size, the Pixel XL, matching the iPhone 7 Plus’ diagonal display at 5.5 inches.

The Apple Watch Series 2 was just made available in late October, with water resistance and built-in GPS being two of the main changes highlighted from Series 1.

A newer series means a price drop for the original Apple Watch, which still carries many of the core features found in the newer smart watches.

Samsung Gear S2

The Samsung Gear smartwatch is all about giving the user choices. From customizable designs that you can change anytime to the varying applications and uses featured within, the Gear S2 is designed to fit your personal needs, whatever they may be.

With its big brother, the Gear S3, now on the market, the lower price on the S2 makes it even more appealing as a gift idea this winter.

Samsung Gear S3

The Samsung Gear S3 came out this fall, and improves on the already impressive S2 in a number of ways.

It adds water resistance and built-in GPS, as well as a stronger battery life that lasts up to three days on a single charge.

Make calls, reply to emails, and even make purchases all from this handy smart watch, allowing you the option to leave your phone behind on many of your daily trips.

Fitbit’s Charge 2 and Alta are among the most high-tech fitness wristbands on the market. Track your daily activity as well as your sleeping habits while also being able to call/text and access your calendar.

The Charge 2 offers a few additional features not found in the Alta, including GPS and heart rate monitoring.

Tile tracker

For that one person on your list who’s always misplacing their belongings, Tile is the perfect gift for them.

It’s a tracker that allows you to keep tabs on where all your valuables are, using tiles. It works by using the phone app to ring the tiles, which play a ringtone to allow you to find them.

Lost phone? No problem, simply press any of the tiles to make your phone ring – even if its on silent. A great system to help out the unorganized loved one on your list.

Philips wake-up light

The Philips wake-up light improves the everyday experience of waking up in the morning by using a combination of light and sound therapy.

The light increases gradually up to 30 minutes before your alarm time, while a selected sound gradually fills your ears as you wake.

Polaroid Cube

For the adventurous friend, the Polaroid Cube is a great gift they can take on the go.

Set it on your helmet, bike handles, or anything metal to track your action up close.

The Cube comes in a variety of colours and sizes to allow you the flexibility needed to take HD photos and videos of your daily adventures.

GoPro Hero 4

If you’re looking for something more advanced than the Polaroid Cube, look no further than the GoPro Hero 4.

The Hero 4 is a wearable camera that can record up to 150 minutes of video at 4K resolution. The camera features shock and water resistance, meaning its just as durable as the person wearing it, through any kind of adventure.

Samsung Gear VR

Samsung’s Gear VR is a virtual reality headset, allowing users to explore new worlds as games, videos, and photos in a surreal visual experience.

Gaze at the galaxy, battle monsters, build cities, and tons more with the apps available on the Gear VR.
