According to a statement issued by the company, dogs who ingest excessive levels of vitamin D can exhibit symptoms such as vomiting, loss of appetite, increased thirst, increased urination, excessive drooling, and weight loss.

When consumed at dangerously high levels, serious health issues such as renal (kidney) dysfunction can occur.

Pet owners who believe their dogs may have consumed any of the products listed above should contact their veterinarian.

Consumers who have purchased any products affected by the recall are asked to dispose of it or return it for a full refund.

In addition to Canada, the products were also sold in retail stores across the United States, Japan, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Israel, and South Korea.
